Politicians: Eventually They Learn

It looks like Prime Minister Gordon Brown is now having to admit that he has learned a hard truth. Political campaigns and Political Reality are two different things. Like the some of the Democrats here in the United States, Gordon Brown campaigned for the PM seat saying that he would bring the troops home.

Now, it looks like military and political reality is setting in. The British will NOT be bringing troops home early according to a story in the Telegraph.
Apparently, Mr. Brown is discovering that the Ministry of Defense and real world security concerns trump political promises and that candidates don't always have all the answers.

I wonder when the Democrats will learn the same thing?
