Happy Independence Day- Not Happy 4th


"We hold these truths to be self evident..."

Several times this morning, I have heard something that bothers me.   It is not "spin" on particular legislation.  It is not the latest theory of why a Justice voted the way he did.  It is not an interpretation of some obscure policy or Executive Order.
 
It was being told "Happy 4th of July"
"...that All men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."

Over the years, it seems to me that almost every one of our Holidays has lost meaning.   Merry Christmas has been replaced by Happy Holidays in an effort to become more "sensitive" and "politically correct."   Thanksgiving has become less about a day of thanks and time with family and more about looking at the store ads, who is opening when for Black Friday, and what is the plan to make the most of the biggest shopping day of the year.  Memorial Day has ceased to be a day where we remember the fallen, or visit the graves of the departed, and has become "the Official Launch of Summer." 

Unfortunately, as have gone these aforementioned days, so is going Independence Day.

Of all Holiday's on the American Calendar, Independence Day is unique.   With Independence Day, no American can complain of "religious" overtones as they do with Christmas and for a few Thanksgiving.   It is not about whether one supports the Troops or necessarily remembering those who gave "the last full measure of devotion."   It is not a day where we celebrate our right to freely assemble and associate ourselves with others like us to demand concessions in the workplace (Labor Day- for those who have forgotten the original intent of that day as well).  Nor is it a day set aside for the celebration of the foundations of Christianity.   

Rather it is the day we set aside to Celebrate the foundation of those Rights that secure our Freedoms to Celebrate or Protest all other Holidays.
"...That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the Consent of the Governed..."

Independence Day is just that…the day where we celebrate our Independence.   Recently, a radio show I listen to was talking about the US Citizenship test that immigrants are required to pass before they become citizens and how many natural born Citizens would fail that test.   That conversation caused me to question how many know what it is we celebrate on Independence Day. 
 
We are not celebrating the beginning of the Revolution- that began in 1775.   We are not celebrating the birth of our Republic as the Republic was not truly formed until the Constitution was ratified in 1789.   We are not even celebrating the founding of our Government, for it can well be argued that our first Government, under the Articles of Confederation, was a dismal failure.  Most shocking of all, we are not even celebrating the day when the Continental Congress voted to Declare Independence from the Crown (John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail after the vote to declare independence,  The second of July 1776, will be the most memorable epocha in the history of America. I am apt to believe it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival”).  New York did not approve the Declaration until July 19, 1776, and the actual signing (for most of the signers) was on August 2, 1776.

We celebrate Independence Day on July 4th because on that day the final wording was approved, and the document was sent to be printed and distributed to We the People.

Independence Day is about Freedom.  It is about those freedoms which are established in our Constitution and excercised each and every day by each and every one of us, no matter our Political, Religious, or other affiliations.  It is about the hundreds of thousands who shed their blood and gave their lives, to fight for the very freedoms we exercise when we disagree with each other and our Government.  It is about Celebrating the right to express our selves and our differences.  And yes, it is about Celebrating the Freedom to say, “Happy 4th of July” instead of “Happy Independence Day.”

Gone are the days where Independence Day was celebrated by the whole town, gathering in the square, listening to a reading of the Declaration of Independence and firing the brass cannon in front of the court house.   But the reason for our celebrations remain, the right to be Free and Independent. 

So the next time someone wishes a “Happy 4th,” reply, “Happy Independence Day”
“…for support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Devine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes , and our sacred Honor.”

Fast and Furious: The Justice Dept Strikes Back


There are some times that I absolutely hate being right. Especially when it comes to the actions of our elected officials. This time I may not have been 100% right however, unfortunately, I am close enough.

Wednesday night I wrote about and discussed the possibility that after the contempt citation for Atty. Gen. Holder was passed by the House of Representatives, that Our Great Leader, HRH Barack I (peace be upon Him) would immediately grant Atty. Gen. Holder a pardon. This was based on the idea that the house would be passing a single contempt citation holding the Atty. Gen. in criminal contempt.

As has been reported widely the House actually passed two contempt citations against Atty. Gen. Holder, the first being a criminal citation and the second being a civil citation. My understanding is that a Presidential Pardon would have no effect on the civil citation.

So of course, when news broke this afternoon, that the Justice Department stated they were refusing to accept the House citation of contempt against Atty. Gen. Holder and stated flat-out that they would not prosecute, I was less than surprised.

And with that, Faster than you can say Furious, Holder is off the hook (criminally)-- for now.

The Justice Department may only refuse to prosecute as long as the current administration is in office. This still leaves open the possibility of a Presidential Pardon for Atty. Gen. Holder. If this November, HRH Barack I is replaced, the Romney administration can immediately take up criminal sanctions. Therefore it would not surprise me if the Presidential Pardon comes right before Obama leaves office January 20, 2013.

This is just another example of this administration's arrogance and a refusal to bow to the rule of law and the will of the people.

First Thoughts on the Obama Care Ruling

Like most I am still trying to decide exactly how I feel about the Supreme Court's ruling this morning in "National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius" also known as the Obama Care ruling.

I've downloaded the Court's opinion and am in the process of reading and digesting it.

While on the surface it appears to some, especially those on the liberal side of the aisle, that this was a defeat for the GOP.  It may not have been.

Of primary import is the fact that nothing galvanizes conservatives like a Supreme Court ruling that does not go their way. While the ruling upheld what was previously called an individual mandate, it's important to note that the Court ruled that this is an individual tax not a mandate. It is also important to note that the Chief Justice in his opinion limited the application of the Commerce Clause.

Further the Court held that the government cannot coerce States into an enormous expansion of Medicare. If the states choose not to expand Medicare then that would force those that are above the poverty level but without insurance into government pools. This could potentially put a large burden on the Federal Government financially.

This ruling also paints the Obama administration into a corner. If they brag about their health care ruling, then they have to admit that this is the largest tax increase in the history of the United States certainly if not the history of modern civilization. They swore they would not raise taxes on the middle class or the poor and yet the Court has ruled today that they did.

I'm also looking at the dissent from Justice Kennedy. It is been reported, but not widely, that there are some very interesting "errors" in the wording of the dissent. The dissent appears to read like a majority opinion. Further the dissent is reported to refer in places to a dissent that no longer exists begging the question was this dissent actually the majority opinion at one point? Did Chief Justice Roberts originally vote to strike the entire law? If so why did the Chief Justice change his vote?

The final opinion handed down by the Court today is 193 pages long and I have certainly not finished reading it yet. Rest assured when I do I will have more here.

Fast and Furious- The Holder Contempt Vote

Tomorrow will be a huge day with the Supreme Court announcing the ruling on Obama Care and its Tax Hikes and the Holder Contempt vote for his decision to defy Congress's lawful subpoena asking for documents regarding the testimony Holder gave to Congress stating "No one knew anything about Fast and Furious"-- which he then retracted in a letter about 9 months later.

Unfortunately, based on the recent history of Our Great Leader, HRH Barak I, (Peace be upon him) in going around Congress on immigration, defying the Courts in the ruling on SB1070, and his stated goal of "not waiting" for the Congress and acting on his own, I STRONGLY SUSPECT, that shortly after the House cites Holder for Contempt, His Imperial Majesty Barack Hussein Obama, will just issue a pardon for Eric Holder, stating this was all a Republican witch hunt and then say something to the effect "well, President Ford issued a pardon for Nixon,"  Fast and Furious was the same thing as what President Bush did (Operation Wide Receiver), and Congress should sit down and shut up.  He will also go back to the "Executive Privilege" claim.

On the claim of Executive Privilege- my first response to Executive Privilege is sorry-- the President has stated he knew NOTHING about  Fast and Furious- How can there be Presidential Communication about something he knew nothing about?

My second response Executive Privilege?   Sorry--  United States. v. Nixon 418 US 683 (1974) states executive privilege does not cover criminal activity.  Congress is investigating Criminal Activity and there is evidence already that "high levels" of the administration of Our Great Leader, HRH Barack I (Peace be Upon Him), knew of and were briefed on Fast and Furious- despite denials of the Administration.

On "its the same thing Bush did"-- There are MAJOR differences between Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious. Operation Wide Receiver was run by BATFE by placing RFID markers in gun stocks and following straw purchasers and arresting them.   Wide Receiver was ended when Justice found problems with the RFID markers AND Wide Receiver was conducted in COOPERATION with the Mexican government.   In contrast, Fast and Furious was run WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE of Mexico and included few if any RFID markers.  Wide Receiver covered 275 guns-- Fast and Furious, OVER 2000!

On "this is a Republican Witch Hunt"--Unfortunately, the facts and the record seem to get in the way of the denials and the cover up.  Democratic Congressman Ciro Rodriguez of Texas, a member of the Appropriations Committee, requested a $30 Million increase for the Justice Department for the parent of Fast and Furious, Operation Gunrunner.  The appropriation request was made in March of 2009- with Fast and Furious beginning less than six months later. How could a Congressman know about money needed for a Justice Department operation, unless he had been briefed on the operation and asked to appropriate the money?  Or are we saying the Congressman just made the whole thing up as some place to park $30 million?

On March 12, 2010 Gary Grindler, Attorney General Holder's current Chief of Staff, attended a meeting on Fast and Furious where he wrote on his notes "multiple long rifle sales," "Fast and Furious," and notes about long gun reporting and multiple weapons sales.  He also wrote "seizures in Mexico"-- but remember, the Justice Department said they knew nothing of Fast and Furious.
The list of these events goes on and on.

Why care?  Because the reason for Fast and Furious was simple- If American's are outraged about Guns from Arizona going to Mexico, they would support a renewal of the Assault Weapon's Ban.   This was the stated goal of Eric Holder as early as 2009.

On "Ford pardoned Nixon"-- No one died from the Watergate break in.

Lest we forget, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed on December 15, 2010, by guns purchased in January 2010 through Fast and Furious, allowed to leave Phoenix, cross the border, and show up in the hands of drug traffickers. 

Lest we also forget ICE Agent Jamie Zapata was killed in February 2011, also with guns from Fast and Furious.
Lest we also forget, hundreds of others are estimated to have been killed directly from Fast and Furious.

But of course, Our Great Leader is probably right--  this is all nothing and just a distraction...

Talk About Unreasonable

It never ceases to amaze me at how there seems to be a sense of "entitlement" among some in the Public sector.   This time it is the teacher's union's in Chicago- demanding a 29% pay increase over the next two years and refusing to consider changing the length of the school day (Chicago has the shortest school day in the nation).

To be fair- there are some teachers who do not get paid enough. I will gladly concede that point.  But 29%???

As long as I am taking a shot at the Democrat's sacred cow, I will attempt to "confuse the issue" with FACTS.
  • The Median Salary for a CHICAGO Teacher is already $53,639 (or $288 per day for working a 186 day school year). A 29% increase would make the median salary $69,194 (or $372 per day for working a 186 day school year)
Personally, as previously stated, I believe some teachers should be paid more.  However, a demand for a 29% increase for those already being paid far above the national average is totally unreasonable.

There are two ways that teachers take-home pay could easily be increased:
  • Stop paying Union Dues (let the teacher's keep the money themselves)- of course, that would DEFINITELY decrease the money going to Democratic Candidates and the Democratic Party  the NEA.
  • Get rid of the US Department of Education- keep the money in the States.  Now, I did go to a Public High School, but in my US Government class I seem to remember something about a 10th Amendment to our Constitution- and I don't seem to remember seeing ANYTHING in the Constitution about a requirement for the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to regulate education (NO- EDUCATION IS NOT PART OF THE COMMERCE CLAUSE). Of course, our Current Administration (and the George Soros owned Democratic Party) has NO regard for the Constitution- as they have shown again this week.  All they care about is re-election.
I am fine with merit pay, and I am fine with REASONABLE increases in salary-- but this is way beyond reason.

Time to Consider Secession?


The ruling on SB1070 is NOT what has caused me to begin to think that it may be time for Arizona to secede from the United States- it is the response of Our Great Leader, His Imperial Majesty Barack I (Peace be Upon Him) and his lapdog, Janet (I'm a Traitor to My State) Napolitano.

Apparently, I am not the only one who is thinking so or has brought this idea up.

The issue is simple- the Federal Government has stripped Arizona of its Sovereignty.   They have ceded our State to Mexico and openly support an invasion of Mexican citizens into Arizona.

Immigration is a LEGAL status.   There is no ILLEGAL Immigration- You either are an Immigrant, a Citizen, a Visitor, or you are invading.  There are NO other options.  

When the US Government states openly it will no longer stop Illegal Aliens/Invaders to Arizona- When they state openly they will STRIP Arizona of the ability to enforce FEDERAL LAWS, they have abdicated their right to govern.

To refuse to take calls from Arizona Law Enforcement who are doing their jobs as defined and allowed by ALL EIGHT JUSTICES who heard Arizona v United States, yet set up a line to take calls from people who ALLEGE they have had their Civil Rights violated, BEFORE the law actually takes effect is beyond belief and beyond reproach.

The CONSTANT and CONTINUAL attacks on Arizona MUST STOP.  The Sovereignty of our State must come first- Or it is time to Secede.

Declaration of Arizona's Independence

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal status to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving ONLY their just powers from the CONSENT of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. The history of the present President of the United States is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over this State. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden Our Governor and Legislature to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless they meet His Approval; and he has Chosen to Selectively to enforce the Laws of the United States which have been passed by Congress and by the State; and to Only Enforce such Laws as He deems fit.

He has passed Executive Orders abolishing the Law and Rule of Law and creating a Government of Executive Fiat, defying the Will of the People and of the People's Representatives

He has refused to Provide to the People's Representatives those Documents and Records demanded by the People for the Proper and Duly required Oversight of His Executive Officers and has used his office to Obstruct Justice and Investigations by The People.

He has endeavored to prevent the lawful defense of the State; has Allowed and Encouraged the Unlawful Entry to this State; refusing to enforce the Immigration Laws of this Country, within the Borders of the State of Arizona

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws and Rulings of Our Judiciary Powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone and has Nullified their Rulings by Executive Fiat.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices as "Czars" without the Consent of the Senate, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For Ordering Religious Organizations to Abolish their Beliefs and Forcing them to Provide services contrary to their Beliefs and Right to the Free Practice of Religion:

For protecting His Appointees, by a Executive Order from inquiry for Murders which were committed on the Inhabitants of  Our States with Arms Provided by His Government:

For abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments in His rule by Executive Order:

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of Federal Protection and  Allowing War by Drug Cartels and Illegal Occupation to be waged against us.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms- And sought the Rule of Law by Our Courts and Representatives of the People: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A President, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our American brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by the Executive to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our economy and our State's Will. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.

We, therefore, the People of the State of Arizona, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of this Sovereign State, solemnly publish and declare, That this State Is, and of Right ought to be A Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the Federal Government, and that all political connection between them and the Other States of America, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as a Free and Independent State, we have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor

Rogue Panda in Flagstaff?


Some time around 3 a.m. on August 22 someone noticed this sign while driving on Ft. Valley Road in Flagstaff, Arizona.   This sign was supposed to tell drivers not to make left hand turns.  However, hackers, who broke into the sign systems of Arizona Department of Transportation, felt the message should be more "creative" and definately more "humerous."

Shock- I Agree With the NAACP- On One Item

There is apparently one area where the NAACP and I are in agreement- It is time to end "the War on Drugs."

Now, before you close your browser, I must also add that the NAACP and I agree on the concept, but for entirely different reasons.  

My primary reason for believing that the War On Drugs should be ended is that I believe it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL for the Federal Government to regulate drugs.  I cite the 10th Amendment to the Constitution:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Can someone PLEASE tell me, WHERE does the Constitution give the Federal Government the right to regulate the practice of medicine or determine what drugs are "have medicinal value" or not.  That is the crux of the matter.   Each of the several states has a medical board, which governs the licensing of physicians and what constitutes the practice of Medicine in the state.

Of course there will be those that point to "Interstate Commerce," and cite Gonzales v. Raich, 545 US 1In Raich I must disagree, respectfully, with Justice Scalia and instead agree with the late Chief Justice Rehnquist, Justice O'Connor, and Justice Thomas in their dissents.   The Raich case involved a woman who grew and distributed medicinal marijuana legally within the state of California.  However,  Raich was prosecuted under Federal law.   The marijuana NEVER left the state of California- therefore it would seem that interstate commerce did not apply, and therefore this was not a "Federal" issue.   This was the opinion of Chief Justice Rehnquist, Justice O'Connor, and Justice Thomas.    BREAKING with the CONSERVATIVE side of the court, Justice Scalia sided with the Liberals (and Justice Kennedy) in stating that there was a "chance" that the marijuana "might" cross a state line (it had not, remember) and therefore "Interstate Commerce" applied and therefore the Feds had the right to prosecute.   This, I believe, is one of the WORST decisions ever made by The Court.   If I go to McDonald's in Blythe, there is a very good possibility that my french fries will cross a state line.  Those same french fries would almost CERTAINLY cross the state line between Kansas and Missouri, as there are McDonald's on State Line Road! (As the name implies, State Line Road is on the State Line between Kansas and Missouri in Kansas City).  Does that mean that ALL McDonald's should now be Federally regulated, instead of being licensed by the city, county or state?

I am not advocating legalization of drugs.  I am however stating that this should be a State issue, and we should let the States make their laws, based on Consent of the Governed, and leave the Fed out of it.

AAA Rating Lost

The Washington Post seems to be "downgrading" the downgrade.

But the question remains, if the big downgrade was going to happen anyway, why did the GOP give in to a less that what we wanted debt deal? 

Would "Cut, Cap and Balance" have saved the rating?  Who knows.   But this we do know for sure- Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him,  has now presided over the first credit downgrade in American History.  Was this the "change" he was talking about?  Or is he just going to blame President George W. Bush again?

30 Years Ago Today- ATC's Fired


It was 30 years ago today- August 5, 1981- that Air Traffic Controllers who did not return to work, forfieted their jobs.

It was this move, by President Ronald Reagan that began the colapse of the Soviet Union. Why? Because the Soviet's saw that if Reagan would fire Air Traffic Controllers, there was nothing he would not do.

To bad we do not have a President like him today.

The political world is full of stupid polls, but this one takes the cake: God’s Approval Rating.

The biggest question I have is, “Why only poll registered voters?”  I don’t believe that being a registered voter is a requirement to get to heaven- although, Jesus did say to “render to Caesar”- which could be applied to the Civic Duty of Voting, but I digress.

Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him, only has a 46% approval and 53% disapproval for the same time period (July 2011).

One must consider that God is running an entire Universe, while Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him, is only [mis]managing one country.   Add to that the fact that only God [and George W. Today I received a call from Matt Roberts, Director of Communications & Community Outreach for  Ken Bennett, Secretary of State of Arizona.

Matt was able to provide the official website for the project to bring the guns of the USS Arizona and the USS Missouri to Wesley Bolin Plaza in Phoenix.  Matt was also kind enough to provide additional photo’s that we will be posting from time to time.

Guns of the Arizona

Today, the Secretary of State of Arizona, Ken Bennett, announced plans to bring the last of the “big guns” of the USS Arizona to the ship’s namesake state,  hopefully in time for the 60th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The last of the 14 inch guns from the main turrets of the battleship are currently sitting in a Virginia US Navy salvage yard.  The Department of Defense will give the gun to Arizona on indefinite loan, under the condition that the State of Arizona also takes a 16 inch gun which was formerly on the USS Missouri.

The plan is for the guns, weighing 70 tons (from the Arizona) and 140 tons (from the Missouri) to be placed on either side of the anchor from the USS Arizona which is located in Wesley Bolin Plaza at the state capital in Phoenix. Private contributions will be used to bring the guns to Arizona, as well as to clean and remove rust, and mount the guns.

Although the article in the Arizona Republic indicated that the Secretary of State was seeking private contributions, no details were provided on where to send contributions.   A call the the Secretary of State’s office was not returned. [See Update: Guns to Salute the Fallen]

Saving these two guns from salvage, and bringing them to Arizona to memorialize the USS Arizona, as well as the end of World War II (with the gun from the Missouri), is a worthwhile cause.   The Carden Chronicles  will continue to follow this project and will provide updates (including where to send contributions) as they are available.

More "Wet Work" in the Middle East

Another nuclear scientist in Iran, Darioush Rezaie, has been killed.  Again, the “scientist” was killed by a pair on a motorcycle in Tehran.  Again, this appears to be “wet-work” by the Mossad.

Several “nuclear scientists” from Tehran have been killed over the last few years.   Iran blames the US and the “Zionist Regime” (aka Israel) for the hits, but no one has admitted responsibility “on the record.”  The German magazine Der Spiegle has claimed that Mossad is behind the deaths of Darioush Rezaie, as well as Masood Ali Mohammadi (January 2010), Majid Schahriari and Feridun Abbasi (November 2010).

It is also believed that Israel (specifically Mossad) may also be behind the Suxnet virus that shutdown the Iranian nuclear [weapons] program in the summer of 2010.

AP Says MSNBC "Liberal"

It is something we in the general public have known for sometime, but it is nice to see the Main Stream Media finally "get it"-- MSNBC is liberal!

The Associated Press today said that MSNBC has a "liberal tilt."
When three MSNBC hosts forecast the winner of next year's presidential race, their choice isn't surprising, considering the network's liberal tilt.

But their respective certainty wasn't uniform when asked that question at an appearance before reporters on Tuesday at a meeting of the Television Critics Association.

This really should not suprise anyone (with half a brain) who has paid any attention to the "bias" of the MSM over the last few decades. What was suprising was the actual point of the story-- the [liberal] press is prediciting a 2012 election victory for Our Great Leader, Barak Hussien Obama, peace be upon him, but there was "concern" expressed in the predictions:
"Hardball" host Chris Matthews waffled, saying Obama's fate will rest largely on the economy as well as his GOP rival.

If the man who gets "a thrill going up [his] leg" is publically concerned about the re-electability of Our Great Leader, Barak Hussien Obama, peace be upon him, just imagine what they are all saying in private.

Muslim Sensitvity?!

On September 11th 2001 nearly 3,000 innocent people were brutally murdered by al-Qaeda. The cowards didn't attack our military; they attacked innocent civilians by slamming two jet-airliners into the Twin Towers. The people who lost their lives were our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters.

If you have a problem with the United States, why don't you attack our military instead of innocent people? If you have a problem with America and you live here amongst us, why don't you leave already?! Do us a favor and take your ideas and your beliefs of how horrible "we Americans" are and leave! Go to whatever country you want...I don't care which country it is. Try changing that country first instead of ours. You know why you won't leave? Because you know you are free to be the idiot you want to be here. You also know that there is no country as great as the United States of America.

The fact that our President won't release the pictures of that scum bag, Osama (has-bin) Laden due to the Muslim Sensitivity is absurd. Al-Qaeda has showed how much "sensitivity" they have towards us by attacking innocent people instead of our armed/trained soldiers. Oh and I have bad news for you cowards of al-Qaeda. If we can get "him", we can get you, and guess what?! You all have just been bumped up on the list. By the United States capturing and killing Bin Laden it shows that "You can run, but you can't hide (forever)". It shows the United States still has the best weapons and the best intel in the world!

NOT Burning the Quran Will NOT Help

General Petraeus is concerned that a planned "burning of Quran's" by a Florida Church will incite violence in Afghanistan or elsewhere in the Middle East. Is he right? Perhaps.

Terrorist's like Bin Laden have been with us for centuries. The "Marine Hymn" speaks of "the shores of Tripoli." Rarely do Americans remember that in 1785, when Thomas Jefferson and John Adams went to London to negotiate with the Tripoli envoy, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman. The response to the US was over unprovoked attacks on our ships was, "It was written in [the] Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every Muslim who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise."

Attacks against us have continued, and it was the Islamic extremists who fired the first shots. We have over the last nine years said over and over that we as a nation do not fault all Muslims for the actions of a few. We as a nation have "bent over backwards" to accommodate and be sympathetic to Muslim concerns and beliefs. Despite this, the attacks on our citizens have continued.

Should this Church in Florida burn the Quran? Maybe not.

But to think that NOT burning the Quran will decrease Islamic extremism and violence shows at minimum a lack of understanding of history-- and possibly a naïve, "Pollyanna view" of how the world really works.

The Sky is Falling









No Mr. President the sky is not falling; it’s just your approval ratings plummeting like a meteorite to earth. It’s hard to pin point exactly one thing, because it’s actually multiple problems. Let’s start with your birth certificate. I know...I’m just a “birther”, but the fact of the matter is you haven’t provided America with your actual birth certificate. The obviously fake one that you showed us was actually quite insulting. I just don’t understand why you didn’t just provide your birth certificate at the start of things and this whole controversy could have been avoided.
According to a Gallup Poll people earning less than $2,000 per month during the week of Aug. 2-8 gave President Barak Hussein Obama a 49 percent approval rating on the job he is doing. This is amazing, even after all of the Obama money that has been passed out, it finally seems as if every class is starting to wake up. According to Gallup this is marks the first time the lower class has given President Obama a disapproving rating.
Maybe it’s the way you are turning the White House into a Muslim themed palace. Where are the American flags again? Maybe it’s because your first interviews after you became President of the United States were with Muslim news stations. I mean it’s pretty bad when the liberal David Letterman is getting fed up with how things are going and how many vacations you have taken.

Could it be how laxed you have been on securing our boarders! The same United States of America that you fought so hard to become President of and you won’t even secure our boarders? Sending a couple thousand troops is not securing our boarders Mr. President. I also do not understand why you are suing Arizona over their immigration law, (which hopefully you have read by now). I have read it, and don’t find this unconstitutional at all. To me it mirrors the federal law concerning immigration. If you don’t like the Arizona law maybe you could take a look at the state of Missouri’s immigration laws. Maybe you can find something in there you like.
So what are we going to do? I’ll tell you what we need to do. First we need to pray for “our” President. Pray for his safety and pray that he makes wise decisions and that he will do what’s best for “our” country. Secondly we need to pray for our government. Pray for the people we elect to represent us. Pray that they listen to the people and put the “peoples” needs first. Third, we need to get out and vote. Let’s get rid of the dirty, corrupt politicians who are only there for personal gain. I don’t care if it they are republican or democrat, it’s time to go. Thank you for your service, but it’s no longer required. This November let’s “drain the swamp”.

Political Correctness

I’m sick and tired of this Political Correctness Cowardess. I consider it one of the worst things to have happened to America. Everywhere I turn it seems as if people are thin skinned. Their feelings are hurt, or they don’t want to offend someone.

Let me get this out of the way right now. I’m not talking about “actual” racism. Racism is wrong and it shouldn’t be tolerated. Whatever happened to “red and yellow, black and white they are precious in His sight”? Nobody should discriminate against another “race”, however it works both ways. If you don’t want me to discriminate against you, you shouldn’t discriminate against me. However…just because I disagree with you, your policies, or your actions, doesn’t mean I’m a racist. It means I disagree with you.

Here is something drives me crazy. I went to my nephew’s t-ball game this summer only to find they don’t keep score. Hu?! They don’t what? How do you teach a kid about life with out teaching him or her about winning and losing? Not just about winning and losing, but how to win and how to lose. We need to teach our kids ethics and that it’s okay to stand up for what you believe in. Those are corner stones of life. We have this “everybody wins, nobody loses, nobody is wrong” type of attitude. We need to stop sugar coating everything, and start speaking the truth. Even if that means you might hurt someone’s feelings. There are consequences with every decision that you make in life. We need to teach our kids to stay in school, work hard and make wise decisions. We as a nation need to stop being such babies. We need to get back to working hard for what we want.

We have elected officials and representatives that I don’t believe represent us. We as a nation got wrapped up with this disease called Political Correctness. We as a nation fell for this lie, yet I don’t blame anyone but ourselves. It is time to wake America and realize that we need to stop “going with the flow”. We need to stand up for what’s right. We have documents called "The Constitution” and “The Bill of Rights” that we need to protect and preserve. It’s time to elect representatives that will stand up for what’s right. This November you will have that opportunity to vote in the right kind of representatives. Remember there are consequences for every decision that we make in life. This November lets not regret the people we allow to get elected.

Obama to Open New KOREAN Plant- at US Taxpayer Expense

The Korean press is reporting that President Barack Hussein Obama will be attending the groundbreaking for an LG Chem Battery Plant in Michigan. This plant is used to create batteries for hybrid cars.  What is important to note, is that this is a Korean business that received $280 million in cash and tax incentives to build the plant to create only 400 jobs.

The $280 million works out to over $700,000 PER JOB! Senior Management will be S. Korean, so that will likely leave only 380 jobs actually created.

Why not give the money to an AMERICAN company?  OR just give 400 people $70,000 per year for 10 years of 4000 people $70K for 1 year.

If should also be noted that it is VERY rare for a US President to attend the opening of a plant belonging to a foreign country- even if they are allied with us. 

I am not opposed to creating jobs, but I am opposed to supporting foreign companies with US Tax Dollars when there are American Companies that could use the support.

National Healthcare is like a hospital gown...you only think you are covered

National Healthcare isn’t even fully in effect yet and the government is already considering not insuring people. “The Obama Administration has not ruled out turning sick people away from an insurance program created by the new healthcare law to provide coverage for the uninsured” You’re kidding me…right?! I mean you wanted it, you got it. You voted for Change, didn’t you?

National Healthcare doesn’t even fully start until 2014. It's pretty sad that the government is already considering this as an option. Just wait until it is actually in place for 10-15 years. What made you think National Healthcare would be a good thing? A report by federal regulators indicated the health care remake will add $311* billion to the national deficit over the next ten years. Let’s take a look at some of the other programs our government does a good job of running; Freddie and Fannie Mae, US Postal Service, Social Security, Medicare… (GULP). Sure, why not give them HealthCare too. I’m sure they’ll do a great job with it. Now add to the equation the increasing number of people visiting the emergency room each year. "Crowding and long waits have plagued U.S. emergency departments for years. A 2009 report by the Government Accountability office, Congress' investigative arm, found ER patients who should have been seen immediately waited nearly a half-hour".

The report also said that Medicare recipients are the biggest users of the "emergency room" and that new health care plan will increase Medicare Recipients by more than 16 million. Not only is the Healthcare plan going to be expensive, but should you need to use the emergency room you will more than likely have to wait even longer! This Healthcare plan is a disaster from start to finish. In closing I’ll leave you with this: I hope you are like a fine wine; you only get better with age.

Don't Mess With Arizona

In 1986, Texas started a new "anti-litter" campaign.  Signs along the highway read, "Don't mess with Texas."  The signs and slogan became very popular, and now, all manner of merchandise is available with the "Don't mess with Texas" slogan.

I would never be one to suggest that Texans do not have an fiercely independent streak.  The "Texas mindset" is legendary.  However, I would suggest that fiercely independent streak and "mindset" of Arizonans is definitely on par with (if not exceeding) that of Texans.

The latest evidence of the proudly independent nature of Arizonans can be seen in Gov. Jan Brewer's latest polling numbers.  Her numbers have skyrocketed, partly due to the way she has stood up to Barack Hussein Obama in recent weeks.  On the same token, Terry Goddard, the Arizona State Attorney General, has seen his polling numbers in his gubernatorial bid against Gov. Brewer plummet- partially due to the fact that he has stated he agrees with Obama.

As a teenager, I remember the debate over Martin Luther King Day in Arizona.   The holiday had been proposed many times, and each time defeated.  Arizona did not want another Federal holiday where state employees would have the day off with pay.  The King holiday finally went to the voters, and was leading in the polls, until, a national news anchor announced, "if Arizona does not pass the King holiday, the NFL will pull the Super Bowl."  From that moment, the holiday was doomed as poll numbers plummeted.   The holiday went down in defeat, and it was until at least a year later, with the "threat" of boycott gone, that Arizona passed the holiday.

Anecdotally, I also remember talking to my father in the late 1990's about Arizona and medical marijuana.  He (my dad) was strongly opposed to the law, as were many in the state.  However, the law passed.  Then, US Attorney General Janet Reno threatened raids and lawsuits in Arizona over the law.  I remember calling my dad after this.  His response was basically the Federal Government should get its nose out of Arizona.  Arizona's law was Arizona's law, and he was not happy that the "Feds" were telling Arizona what to do.

There is plenty of history of Arizona defying the federal government.  Arizona called out the national guard against California over water in the 1930's.  Arizona re-opening Grand Canyon National Park during the "government shutdown" of the Clinton era- after Clinton said "no."

Bottom line, the best thing that has happened for Gov. Brewer, and SB1070 has been Obama criticizing the Governor and the bill, and all the opposition from outside the state.   This opposition guarantees ever strengthening support for Gov. Brewer and SB1070.

Go ahead- Tell Arizona what they can't do.  That is the perfect way to guarantee Arizona will do what it wants and then tell the rest of the country what they can do.

Bottom line...

Don't mess with Texas Arizona.

Obama to Visit KC- To Tout Destruction of Economy

Barack Hussein Obama will be arriving in Kansas City tomorrow to destroy what little traffic flow we have downtown, delay flights from MCI, brag about how less than 600,000 private sector jobs have been created this year and shill for Robin Carnahan- the Democrat running for Sen. Kit Bond's seat.

President Barack Hussein Obama is also expected to talk about how we can tax-business back to the stone-age with carbon-taxes, which might promote sales of some electric vehicles.  Of course, this will not do anything to affect ManBearPig climate change, but will of course continue the destruction of our economy and moving the United States from a position of world leadership to a place of being just another member of the U.N.

NASA:...To Reach Out to Muslims...

Space, the Final Frontier...Apparently not.

According to the head of NASA, appointed by Barak Hussein Obama, one of the primary goals of NASA is to reach out to Muslims- particularly Indonesia. "We really like Indonesia because the State Department, the Department of Education (and) other agencies in the U.S. are reaching out to Indonesia as the largest Muslim nation in the world," said Charles Bolden, NASA Administrator.

Hmmm... Didn't Barak Hussein Obama grow up in Indonesia? I digress...

Again, according to Charles Bolden, Barak Hussein "Obama told him before he took the job that he wanted him to do three things: inspire children to learn math and science, expand international relationships and "perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ..." "

So, NASA's job is not to explore Space, but to make Muslims feel good?  So much for Mars.  So much for returning to the Moon, so much for exploring Space.  Apparently, Barak Hussein Obama is one of "those" democrats, like Walter Mondale, whose goal in life is to kill NASA and United States space exploration.

I can hear Obama now, "We choose to go to Muslim countries, We choose to go to Muslim countries in this decade, not because it is easy, but because we want them to feel good."

I guess it is a good thing that JFK had us go to the Moon before 1970...  If it had been up up to Barak Hussein Obama, we still would not have gotten there and we never would have heard the names of Armstrong, Aldrin, or Lovell.

My advice, buy "From Earth to the Moon"- as long as Barak Hussein Obama has his way, watching a TV show of manned space exploration may be as close as we get for years to come.

"Reasonable Restrictions" from Chicago & Daley-- As Predicted

Ilya Somin at The Volokh Conspiracy wrote a great article about the practical impacts of McDonald v. Chicago. Ilya stated, "The ideologically divided nature of the Court’s decision suggests that the legal status of the Second Amendment isn’t yet completely secure. That said, the decision will have a substantial practical impact in a few areas…"

Ilya is correct that the Second Amendment isn't yet completely secure. Ilya is also correct to predict "substantial practical impact," although, the "impact" planned in Chicago is, I believe, exactly OPOSITE of what the Court intended.

In comment, both to that post and here, I wrote of my fears of what Daley would do to "get around" McDonald v. Chicago, and I predicted that his "reasonable restrictions" would be less than reasonable…

Each qualified gun owner in a home could have only one handgun under a new ordinance being drawn up that could be heard by the City Council Police and Fire Committee as soon as Thursday, officials said. The ordinance would require handgun owners to register their weapons with the Police Department and keep them secured inside the home.

The measure also likely would force gun owners to take safety training classes, undergo a criminal background check and obtain liability insurance, city officials said. City Hall also is mulling a formal ban on gun shops, said Mara Georges, the city's top attorney.

"Reducing the number of handguns in Chicago is critical to public safety," Georges said. "The same concerns that motivate a one handgun per person per residence limit — reducing the number of guns in circulation in Chicago and the risk of illegal traffic in guns — motivate the gun dealer ban."

First- keeping guns secured inside the home is a DIRECT AND BLATANT violation of DC v Heller

Second- Being required to obtain liability insurance to exercise your SECOND Amendment Rights would be NO DIFFERENT from being required to obtain SLANDER insurance to exercise your FIRST Amendment Rights…

Third- Criminal Background Checks are ALREADY required under federal law- don't make it sound like it is YOUR idea, Mayor Daley.

Fourth- BANNING GUN DEALERS is an illegal restraint of lawful trade in my humble opinion.  They are talking "DEALERS" here, which would seem include the private FFL holder.

Fifth- If DALEY really thinks there should be a ONE firearm limit to the Second Amendment, then I propose that his FIRST Amendment rights to Freedom of Speech be limited to ONE SPEECH per decade... (that actually is not a bad idea-- he really should just sit down and shut up).

The only thing not mentioned by the Chicago Tribune was how much you would have to bribe "donate to City Hall" to have your registration approved.

Of course, Chicago will say this is all very reasonable-- After all a ZERO gun limit to ONE gun limit is a 100% increase- how much more reasonable can they be????

ACLU Issues Travel Warning Against Arizona

The ACLU is issuing warnings about travelling to Arizona.

The "warning" basically states that travel to Arizona could lead to racial profiling. The Arizona Chapter of the ACLU has stated they already have had reports of "profiling" and wanted to get the warnings out before July 4.

Except, the law does not go into effect until July 29.

Further, it would seem that this is nothing more than a publicity grabbing, misinformation campaign.

First- As an Arizona native, I can say with 100% conviction that my facts are accurate in that JULY is likely NOT Arizona's best month for tourism. With the exception of parts of Northern and Eastern Arizona the state is HOT during July (and many from the North or East would say Northern and Eastern Arizona are too hot for them). July is the start of the monsoon, the lower elevations are not only HOT (115 in the shade) but also MUGGY, with a good amount of humidity and rain. The fall and winter are MUCH bigger tourism months for the state, with the influx of the seasonal "snow-birds."

(With that said, I have been 'home' to Phoenix in July and August, and I think the weather is fine-- although the kids thought it was hot. One of them dropped a Crayon on the asphalt when we went to visit the zoo and was suprised to see a puddle of molten wax when we returned to the car!)

Second- SB1070 is a SECONDARY offense-law. You cannot be stopped unless you are violating another law! This is no different from secondary seat-belt laws- you cannot get "pulled over" for not wearing your seat-belt. You can only get a ticket, if you are "pulled over" for something else. (With that said, Kansas just made not wearing a seat-belt a "Primary" offense).

Third- 1070 DOES NOT TAKE EFFECT UNTIL JULY 29!!!! WHY warn people on July 4th, unless it is to get press attention?

Personally, as a Native of Arizona, I would say we don't want the ACLU in Arizona to start with, so I suggest that you, the members of the ACLU, follow your own warning and STAY OUT of Arizona…

The Governor's office was a bit more polite:
"The legislation includes very specific language that makes it abundantly clear that racial profiling is and will continue to be illegal in Arizona," Brewer spokesman Paul Senseman said. "Instead of spreading fear, hate, and disinformation about the legislation, it would be helpful for the ACLU to instead join Governor Brewer's demand that the federal government stop discussing and begin implementing an honest plan to secure our nation's border."

Thoughts on McDonald v. Chicago

I am sure most people were expecting me to write yesterday rejoicing in the wake of McDonald v. Chicago. Unfortunately, the ruling was 214 pages and I have yet to complete reading it.

With that said, yes I am very happy about the ruling but I am concerned about what will actually result.

My suspicion is that Mayor Daley of Chicago has already said, "Justice Alito has delivered his opinion, now let him enforce it."

Unfortunately, the Court remanded the case back to the 7th Circuit for more proceedings. This may take an additional couple of years to resolve, just in this case. The reverse and “remand” leaves LOTS of time for the 7th Circuit to “procee[d] slowly and incrementally” and then “submit their opinion in longhand”  (quoting from Justice Scalia's concurrence mocking Justice Stevens).

This is CHICAGO POLITICS we are talking about. Daley is not only going to run with locks (probably one only available from the City at great cost), lock inspections etc, he is going to place a “reasonable” licensing scheme in place– $50,000 per year (plus another $25K to $50K as a bribe “donation” to “expedite” your paperwork”) for the license to start with– and he will claim that is reasonable– as will the District Court, as will the 7th Circuit, and this will all end up back before SCOTUS in 3 years. THEN he will pull another similar law– City approved ammo, purchased only from the City– again at $1000 per box (plus your bribe “donation”)- and again he will claim it is reasonable– as will the District Court, as will the 7th Circuit– and this will all end up back before SCOTUS in 3 years after the last case. THEN he will pull another similar law–

(Do I need to continue– this is Daley and Chicago we are talking about– where do you think Obama and Emanuel learned their politics from?)

Unfortunately we are dealing with a VERY corrupt political environment in Chicago. Remember, 3 YEARS after Heller, there have only been 800 registrations in DC; and I cannot believe that there are ONLY 800 in DC that desire protection in their homes with a firearm– not after 3 years.

After 222 Years, Tomorrow Is the Day

It is hard to believe that although the Constitution was written and ratified 222 years ago, the question of if the 2nd Amendment- the right to keep and bear arms, applies to the states, has not been resolved.

Tomorrow, we find the answer to that question, in that the Court will rule on this question in McDonald v. Chicago.

Supporting Arizona

I have finally become so sick and tired of listening to the left scream about the Arizona Illegal Immigration Act, that I have been prompted to write.

The continual reports of governments boycotting Arizona has gotten me to the point that, as a Native of Arizona I believe it is time for Arizona to Act.

First- The Federal Government has violated the Constitution and disregarded the 10th Amendment- the Health Care Act being a primary example

Second- Article IV of the Constitution- the Full Faith and Credit Clause- requires that each state recognize the acts of each other state. Therefore I would argue, based on Full Faith and Credit, that any boycott of Arizona is GROSSLY unconstitutional.

Third- Rather than the Justice Department dealing with the violation of the Full Faith and Credit Clause, it has decided to sue Arizona

Fourth- The Federal Government has failed to protect the borders of the United States and the Arizona border

The Founding Fathers certainly would not have tolerated what the Federal Government is now doing. Their words:

"That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness"

So what can Arizona do? HCR 2034 seems to get it right.

But I think there needs to be a further step-- SHUT OFF ALL POWER generated in Arizona that is sent to California. Stop all contracts with Cities, Counties and Governments that Boycott Arizona, and Sue the Federal Government for failure enforce the Constitution. I would also take the step of turning off the water to LA as well-- and if necessary, call out the National Guard to enforce it.

It is time for this crap to stop. Arizona's law is Arizona's law.
