Wet Work in Middle East- Mossad? The Mahmoud al-Mabhouh Assassination

UPDATE: More thoughts on the Who of this Who-done-it.

Gabriel Malor over at Ace of Spades Headquarters asked today why he hasn't heard about this story earlier. Well, the reason why it has not been here before today is because I have been working on it-- for the last five days, trying to get the whole story together. This story reads like something from Tom Clancy.

And in the vein of Tom Clancy, I will start with the line from the beginning of the movie Hunt for Red October-

According to repeated statements of the [Israeli] Government...
Nothing of about you are to see [or read]…
…ever happened

It well known that Mossad has a history of participating in assassinations and using forgein passports when they do so. After the brutal murder of the Olympic team in 1972, they took out those responsible. In the 1960's they kidnapped Nazi Adolf Eichmann from Argentina so he could be brought to trial and executed.

In 1997 they attempted to "cap" Kahled Meshaal . The assassination team used Canadian passports. In 2004, New Zealand suspended relations with Israel when two Israeli agents were caught with forged New Zealand passports, and Great Britain formally protested in 1987 and asked for assurances that forged passports from Great Britain would never be used again.

Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, the "now dead" terrorist, was an illegal smuggler of arms for Hamas. He helped found the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades- militant wings of Hamas, and was involved in the kidnapping and murder of two Israeli soldiers, Sa'adon and Sasportas, during the first Palestinian intifada in 1989. It is also believed he was involved in smuggling arms from Sudan to Gaza in 2009.

Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was found dead on January 20, 2010 in his hotel room in Dubai.

I have taken a number of news reports and CCTV footage as relased by the Government of Dubai, sorted it, sifted it and created a timeline of the "alleged" events that occurred prior to al-Mabhouh being assassinated. The names used are those that are reported by the Government of Dubai. ALL passports were found to be forged and therefore the names are likely aliases.

January 19, 2010 (all times are the local time in 24 hour format)

00:09 - Alleged assasination team begins to arrive. First to arrive are "Michael Bodenheimer" on a fake passport from Germany and "James Leonard Clarke" on a forged passport from Great Britain.

00:30 - Gail Folliardand and Kevin Daveron arrive from Paris on Air France flight 526. Both are carrying forged passports from Ireland. The Irish government states that no passport has been issued in either name.

00:30 to 02:26 - Other members of the team arrive. Each are carrying fake passports. The names and "fake" passport countries are: Melvyn Adam Mildiner - Britain, Stephen Daniel Hodes - Britain, Paul John Keeley - Britain, Jonathan Louis Graham - Britain, Evan Dennings - Ireland, James Leonard Clarke - Britain, and Michael Lawrence Barney - Britain. Arrivals are from Munich and Qatar

02:26 - Peter Elvinger arrives. He is using a fake French passport. He was the last of the alleged assassination team to arrive in Dubai. Allegedly, he meets member of team at airport.

During the day each checks into a variety of hotels. They pay cash. They use "international routers" to place calls. According to the Dubai government video, none ever contacted each other by phone, but they all called a number in Austria- supposedly, this is how they relayed information to each other.

10:40 to 11:00 - alleged team members meet at a mall. They are seen entering separately or in pairs and leaving in separately or in different pairs. After this pairs rotated in teams, waiting for Al-Mabhouh’s arrival at Al Bustan Rotana hotel near Dubai airport.

15:00 (about) al-Mabhouh arrives in Dubia-- he is also using a fake passport. He does not have security with him. They could not get tickets on the same flight and he has traveled to Dubai before without security without incident. His security team was to arrive on January 20. He is met by a Palestinian who is a resident of Dubai at the airport. He is allegedly followed by members of the assassination team at the airport.

From the Times -

The team is seen "staking out various hotels in the area to determine where he is going to stay.

In CCTV footage of the victim and suspects released by Dubai police, Al-Mabhouh is shown being tracked by his assassins throughout the day of the murder, who donned an array of disguises, including fake beards and wigs.

Surveillance teams rotated in pairs waiting for Al-Mabhouh’s arrival at the luxury Al Bustan Rotana hotel near Dubai airport"

15:25 - Mahmoud al-Mabhouh checks into the Al-Bustan Rotana Hotel, room 230. He is apparently followed to his hotel room by two members of the "hit squad" wearing sports apparel and carrying tennis racquets-

15:55 - Peter makes call to book room Al-Bustan Rotana Hotel room 237 from another hotel's business center- per the Dubai Government video -- . Room 237 is directly across the hall from room 230. Peter also books his departing flight from Dubai for that night.

16:25 - al-Mabhouh stayed in his room for an hour before leaving to meet people who are believed to be Palestinians from Gaza.

16:30 - Peter checks into room 237. He does not go to the room but allegedly passes the key to Kevin in the lobby.

19:30 - Peter Elvinger leaves Dubai Airport

20:00 - Members of assassination team are allegedly seen on video on hallway of room 230. There is also allegedly a "write" to the door lock, supposedly indicating a change of key coding or a method of entry to the room. There is supposition that the assassination team waited in the room.

20:24 - al-Mabhouh arrives back at his hotel. According to Dubai police, he has been "shoe shopping"

20:30 - al-Mabhouh returns to his room and supposedly is killed at this time. Reports differ as to the methods, however, most are now saying he was stunned and then strangled to death. Nothing is touched in the room. The hit takes 10 minutes.

20:47- hit squad is out of hotel

22:30 - Melvyn Adam Mildiner and Stephen Daniel Hodes depart to South Africa, Kevin Daveron and Gail Folliard depart to Paris

23:30 - Michael Bodenheimer and Jonathan Louis Graham allegedly depart to Hong Kong

January 20, 2010-

00:30 - Evan Dennings allegedly departs to Zurich

06:30 - Michael Lawrence Barney allegedly departs to Frankfurt

08:30 - James Leonard Clarke allegedly departs to Frankfurt

13:30 Mahmoud al-Mabhouh found dead in Room 230 of the Al-Bustan Rotana Hotel - "latch and chain" on door are in place- in other words, door is locked from the inside.

Janary 28, 2010- The body of al-Mabhouh is sent to Damascus for burial. Word of his death is slow to get out, partly because he used fake information to enter Dubai.

January 29, 2010- The first response from Israel- (IsraelNN.com ) Member of Knesset Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) reacted Friday to the elmination of senior Hamas terrorist commander Mahmoud Al-Bahouh by saying, "Every murderer should know that the long arm of Israel will get him at any time and any place.
Later-
“All the security services make, thank God, great efforts to safeguard the security of the State of Israel,” Interior Minister Eli Yishai told the reporters with a smirk on his face.

Science and Technology Minister Daniel Herschkowitz added that Mossad chief Meir Dagan was one of the best directors of the espionage agency ever.

“My impression is that the Mossad knows how to get the job done, and it is a known thing that anyone who lifts a hand against a Jew is putting his life on the line,” Herschkowitz said.

They never come out and say, "we did it"- nor do they really say "we did not do it." Although they have plausible deniability.

From the Jerusalem Post-

On Monday night, Melvyn Adam Mildiner, a British Israeli man who made aliya from London nine years ago, went to bed suffering from what he said is pneumonia.

When he woke up the following morning, Mildiner said, he was stunned to discover that one of the members of an alleged hit squad who assassinated senior Hamas operative Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in a Dubai hotel last month went under an alias which was identical to his name.

And from The Times-

Mr Mildiner confirmed that the name and number of his passport matched those released by the Dubai authorities. But he said he had no idea how his details had been stolen as his passport, issued in Britain in 2001, had never been lost or missing. “I have my passport. It is in my house, along with the passports of everybody else in my family, and there’s no Dubai stamps in it because I’ve never been to Dubai,” he said.

The photo released in Dubai also does not match his passport picture or photographs posted on his Facebook and Twitter accounts. “It’s not me,” he said. “Which is one silver lining on this entire story because at least I can point to it and say, ’Look, that’s not me.” Colleagues of Susan Hodes, the mother of Stephen Daniel Hodes, said she had been thrown into panic by the apparent theft of her son’s name.

At her workplace Urban & Rural Estates, in Manchester, a colleague said: “It’s not her son. She has got a child called Stephen Daniel Hodes and she is in a complete tizz. Thankfully there was the picture which is not her son. Whether someone has stolen identity or whether there are two Stephen Daniel Hodes I don’t know. She called in the office in a complete panic. It’s just very uncomfortable for her.”

France and Germany both said they were unable to verify the identities of the passport holders named in Dubai. “We are still checking,” a French foreign ministry spokesperson said. “But it would not be surprising if the identity was false.”

Ireland said the three Irish passports appeared to be forgeries rather than stolen identities. “We have run the passport numbers and names through our system and there are no passports in those names or with those numbers,” said an Irish foreign affairs department spokesman. “These purported passports are false.”

According to the Haaretz this whole scenario is similar to the novel "Duet in Beruit"- which is similar to or based on a failed 1997 attempt to assassinate Hamas politburo chief Khaled Meshal in Jordan. Mishka Ben-David wrote in detail about Mossad methods in the novel.

Was it Mossad? I have no idea. It was profesional. It feels like Mossad. If it was not, it serves Israel's purposes to have terrorist think it was... if it was, same thing. A terrorist is dead. So, give the guys who did it... whoever they are... a medal.

Death Threats at Olympics!

No, it is not the PLO or Hamas or Al Qaeda. It is not death threats against the Israeli team (that would not be news- just par for the course unfortunately).

It is however Animal Rights Activists threatening US figure skater, Johnny Weir.

Weir has been receiving threats and has had to change his plans in Vancouver over concerns for his safety, because he wore a costume with REAL FUR at the US Nationals. He will be wearing a different costume at the Olympics...

Now apparently, he had planned to wear Faux Fur for the Olympics, however, this young man is standing by his principles and refusing to participate in the slaughter of innocent Faux's just for a costume!

I am always outraged every time I walk into a store and see the number of Faux Fur products. Do people have any idea how many cute and innocent Faux's are slaughtered every day to make these products just to satisfy peoples desire for Faux.

Unfortunately, my own father has reportedly participated in this outrage. From what I understand, as a teenager, his friend rebuilt a scooter and covered the seat with Nauga hide [sic]. When a girl asked about the seat cover, my dad's friend said that dad had killed or skinned the Naugas. (Maybe this was just said to impress the blonde girl). For those that do not know, Naugas are closely related to Faux's- their fur is not used, as in the case of Faux's- rather their hides are used to produce Naugahyde.

I applaud Johnny Weir for his refusal to switch to Faux Fur. "It was not because I was pressured to change it, but because I don't like faux fur," Weir explained.

I am outraged that the Animal Rights crowd would threaten a human life for not using Faux.

(It should be noted that I am the founding member and President of People for the Ethical Treatment of Fauxs. We are a small organization, with one member, but we plan on doubling our membership before the end of the next decade).

"Local" On Slopes During Olympic Training Runs

A lynx walked across the Whistler Men's Downhill runs during training runs today. This is the second time the lynx has been seen on the course during the games.

No word on if he plans on competing or just watching.

Also no word if Janet Napolitono's web searching for Olympic terrorism gave her any advanced warning of the "un-authorized" entry.

Obama Planning to Use Executive Orders- to bypass Congress?

From the NYTimes.com: "With much of his legislative agenda stalled in Congress, President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities."

Yes, the Constitution does give the President the power of the Executive Order. Further the Constitution does allow for recess appointments. However...

The purpose of the Executive Order was partly to allow the President to take action in an era when the carriage ride to Washington may take weeks and mail was carried by horse. During that era, without the ability of the President to make recess appointments, and Executive Orders, the Government would not function (there is something to be said for the Government being unable to do anything--like raise taxes-- but I digress).

However, Obama has already expressed that he will use Executive Order power to DEFY CONGRESS and to DEFY the WILL OF THE PEOPLE. I site as example, when, during the State of the Union, Obama stated he would sign an Executive Order to override a vote of the Senate.

Executive Order is NOT intended for the President to make law what has been voted down by the Congress. The CONGRESS is empowered to make laws- NOT THE PRESIDENT. His use of the Executive Order, depending on what those orders are, could be called dictatorial.

Obama's State of the Union showed him as a potential dictator. "[T]he Senate blocked a bill that would have created this commission. So I'll issue an executive order that will allow us to go forward." Although he may think he is the ultimate power in this country, he is not.

His argument of "obstruction" by Republicans is also a load of crap- He had a super majority until last month and even now he has every vote he needs to pass anything he wants (with the exception of those few issues that require 2/3's majority) within his own party.

Obama had best be careful in how he uses the Executive Order--

"[G]overnments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it," -The Declaration of Independence

William at The Pirates Cove and Stop the ACLU is also discussing this issue. His article is a good read.

Luge Athlete from Nation of Georgia Dies in Training Run

Nodar Kumaritashvili was killed today on a training run down the Whistler Slider Centre. By my calculations based on the speed shown in the corner of the picture, he had been traveling at 89.6 mph.

Apparently, he lost control of his sled during the on of the last turns on his run, flipped over the track wall and hit a steel pole near the finish. Medics were doing CPR on scene and he was airlifted to the hospital. However, when you have cardiac arrest from blunt force trauma, well, from what I have seen (having worked in several ER's when I was younger) your odds of survival are pretty low.

He is the fourth Olympian to die in the history of the Winter Games-- no athlete has died in actual competition.

The nation of Georgia may withdraw from competition.

A female luger from Romania, Violeta Stramaturaru, was knocked unconscious yesterday on the same track.

There are questions on whether this track is too fast.

Here is Video of the luge crash today involving Nodar Kumaritashvili--
Warning: This could be considered graphic-

UPDATE:
NBC News showed this video on the news a few minutes ago and I was able to view it better (in HD and on a big screen). It appears that when he came over the wall he struck the pole with his neck and head and that his head was bent forward on impact. In other words, it really looks like he likely broke his neck. Even at a somewhat slower speed, and even if the pole was padded, in my opinion, it probably would not have mattered, unfortunately. With immediate cardiac arrest, he probably broke his neck at a high level (C1-C2), and if that is the case, no amount of heroics from medics or doctors would help.

British Court Reveals Terrorism Suspect Beaten

FOXNews.com: "Intelligence ties between London and Washington have been jeopardized by a British court's disclosure that a terrorism suspect was beaten and shackled in U.S. custody, diplomats and security officials said Wednesday."

Lets get a couple of things straight-

1. I am generally against inhumane treatment of people
2. I believe the Geneva Conventions should always apply

Since the 1800's the US and Great Britain have had each others backs (ok- historians - I am talking about after 1812) and in the 20th Century the situation has literally been one of the US and Great Britain not just cooperating or being allies but really "brothers." The US-Great Britain relations defy the general rule of international relations- "The best relations between countries are comprised of two nations [screwing] each other- or [screw] your buddy." This is unfortunately what the British did to us today.

Unfortunately the damage has been done- but before MORE damage is done, HRH Elizabeth II needs to step in stop some of this- or at least direct her Prime Minister to stop some of this. Yes, HRH is a constitutional Monarch- but She can direct Her Government's actions to some extent.

Now, with regard to the Geneva Conventions-

These are enemy combatants in a war zone. They are passing themselves as civilians in that they are NOT in uniform. They are committing acts of sabotage and espionage against the Government and intentionally targeting true civilians. They are subject, under the rules of war to having rights deprived and subject to execution.

So, fine- execute them.

Iran Shuts Down Gmail

From FOXNews.com - Iran Shuts Down Gmail, Announces National E-Mail Service: "Iran's telecommunications agency announced Wednesday that it has permanently suspended Google's e-mail services and that a national e-mail service for Iranians will be rolled out soon"

In other words, this Islamic Extremist "government" that defies the will of its people in elections, is now doing everything possible to make sure that they control any information into or out of the country.

For those that don't understand the infrastructure of the Internet, this type of blocking is possible. The only "possible" (and by possible I mean chances are slim) way of getting around this would be bi-directional satellite- maybe. Perhaps there is another method but most would probably be controlled by Iran's telecommunications agency.

Next, expect reports to filter out of Iran about people being "lined up against a wall" and "the family being billed for the cost of the bullet."

Super Bowl- Why Are You Watching?

I have never been much of a pro football fan-- I do enjoy college ball however.

But being Super Bowl Sunday, I have to ask-- Are the majority of the people watching the Super Bowl watching for the half-time show (the Who was good), the commercials or the game itself? (At some point I will find my favorite commercial and post it here).

UPDATE- Ok- So I love the Budweiser Clydesdale's commercials. Apparently they weren't originally going to air. Personally, I am glad they did.

Imam Issues Fatwa Against Facebook

For years, various members of my family kept saying "you should have a Facebook page." My response always was, "I have a blog- I don't need a Facebook page..." Finally, I gave in and in the last week I finally decided to set up a Facebook page.

Now, all of a sudden, a Fatwa has been issued against Facebook--

Haaretz - Israel News:
"Abd al-Hamid al-Atrash, an Egyptian cleric who this week ordered the Muslim faithful to boycott the Arab world's favorite social networking site [Facebook], Army Radio reported.

Atrash heads the fatwa - or religious edict - committee at Cairo's Al-Azhar University, considered one of the highest authorities in Sunni Islam.

The leading Sheikh was reportedly affronted by a survey that claimed one in five Egyptian divorces is caused by infidelity with a partner met through Facebook.

Facebook 'breaks up families,' Atrash reportedly said in his ruling forbidding Muslims from using the popular site."
It is nice to know that I am doing something that angers extremist Imams. Had I known, I may have set my page up sooner. Or maybe the Fatwa is only against the Arabic language Facebook?

The Push To Ease Arizona Gun Laws

From the Arizona Republic: "Two bills, one to allow concealed weapons without a permit and the other to exempt guns made and kept in the state from federal regulation, each has more than a dozen legislators backing them. If passed, Arizona would be only the third state in the nation to allow either of the looser restrictions"

First-
Personally I believe the Constitution says we have the right to keep and bear arms. Period. I agree that having people take firearm safety classes is a good idea, and proficiency demonstration is also a good idea. But the idea of paying a fee for the right to carry concealed bothers the Constitutionalist inside me.

Second-
If the Gun is manufactured and sold in the state of Arizona, the Fed's have NO RIGHT in the Constitution to regulate or legislate them. The idea of the "interstate commerce" clause being able to be used for anything Congress feels like infuriates me. This is another example of Federal overreaching. The interstate commerce clause was intended only to regulate interstate commerce.

Iran Makes Space Launch- Bad News for Israel and the Rest of the World

Iran announced a successful space launch today, stating they shot a payload containing some animals into space.

The problem with this?

If you can orbit a payload into low-earth orbit, you can use the same rocket to lauch a payload containing a nuclear warhead to any target on the planet.

Of course, I am sure that Iran's space program is completely peaceful.  Its not like Iran has ever stated they want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.  Oh, wait, they did...

Underwear Bomber Cooperating- Why? A Sweetheart Deal?

After being Mirandized, and told he has the right to a lawyer and told that anything he says can be used against him in a court of law, AbdulMutallab is cooperating and talking with authorities.

Apparently his family was flown into the US to talk to this scumbag. Reports are that they said he can trust the US judicial system and that he would be treated fairly.

Now, here is the question of the day-- After being told that anything he says can (and will) be used against him, what is there for him to trust?

I wonder if AbdulMutallab was told, hey if you cooperate will will reduce your charges or drop certain charges or maybe they will drop everything down to "smoking on an aircraft?"

This is of course just conjecture, but why else would this guy talk?

I am almost willing to bet that the Obama administration has given AdulMutallab a deal and that the charges he will face will probably be minimal-- if any at all.

Today's "Man-Caused Global Warming" Fraud

From The Guardian: "Phil Jones, the beleaguered British climate scientist at the centre of the leaked emails controversy, is facing fresh claims that he sought to hide problems in key temperature data on which some of his work was based."

Every day it seems there is yet another news article showing the data behind "Man-Made" or Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) is either faked, wrong or misleading. It has gotten to a point that Meteorologist Anthony Watts is calling it climate-gate Du Jour.

This time it is all about the effects of "heat islands" and if city growth and weather station placement has caused false or abnormally high readings.

(Perhaps the best reading on this subject is the "Surface Station's Project". This project has been documenting the placement of weather surface stations and the "interesting" readings that come from bad placement of surface stations versus the surface stations that are placed in "good" locations.)

Now, I believe that our climate fluctuates and perhaps it is even changing somewhat. But, I do not believe that this "climate change" is man-made or in any way caused by man.

The fact remains that earth has faced warm periods in history. The "medieval warm period" which lasted from 800-1300 AD was so warm that wine grapes were grown by the Romans in Great Britain. This is supported by Roman tax records of the period. This warming period was then followed by "The Little Ice Age"- a period of cold that gripped the Northern Hemisphere."

The largest issue I have with AGW, besides the fact that more and more reports are coming out that data is being faked, is the supposition that Man is more powerful than God or Nature.

To me, AGW is shear arrogance. The idea that 160 years or so of industrialization can "destroy the planet" is ridiculous. The history of our planet is one of eruptions or super-volcano's, of asteroids or comets smashing into the planet and wiping out huge percentages of species, of one disaster after another, of ice ages and warming periods. Yet, through all of this, life still exists.

There are those that would have us believe that driving from point A to point B in a car using gasoline will destroy the world. Rubbish. Whether one believes in God or not, the Universe was created in an instant- in one moment the laws of physics were set aside (based on the inflation theory) and the universe was created- either through the "Big Bang" or because, "And God said, Let there be..." and there was. Man does not have this power.

Yes, I do agree, if mankind unleashed every nuke in every inventory on the planet, we would do damage- severe damage- but we would not "destroy" the planet-- the Earth would recover. After all, the Bikini Atoll still exists, and although it is dangerous for man to live there, life is there.

Mankind builds cities. We dam rivers. We move earth. This takes years for us to do these things. However, Mother Nature or God (depending on your beliefs) can undo man's changes in a matter of moments.

How much time did it take for Katrina to destroy years and years of construction in the Gulf? How long does it take for an earthquake to destroy the works of man? How quickly can a tsunami wipe clean a coast-line that man has taken decades to build up? How many seconds does it take for a tornado to wipe out a sub-division? How long will it take for a volcano to send down a lahar to scour a plain, or bury a city or town in feet of ash? The power of each of these events can exceed the power that man-made device can create.

Now, to be clear, I do believe that we should care for the planet. I love the outdoors. I love hunting, camping (when I can) and photographing nature is a passion of mine. I believe in leaving "no trace" when I am enjoying the outdoors. Recycling is important and I believe that use of alternative fuels makes good sense- especially in that it makes us less dependent on an area of the world where there are a lot of people that hate us or that are enemies of freedom.

However, I am becoming more and more angered over the AGW crowd wanting to damage our economy, infringe upon our freedoms with pointless laws, and politicians, like Obama, who claim "overwhelming scientific evidence" for AGW, and then reading practically daily, of reports based on bogus science, unsubstantiated claims, and "fudged" data.

It is time for these "scientists" to answer for the "fraud" they are perpetuating, the panic they are causing, and the economic damage they are contributing to, all in an effort to line their own pockets.

Lockheed L-1011 Joins Kansas City Air Museum

A Lockheed L-1011 landed at the Kansas City Downtown Airport (KMKC) to become part of the the Aviation Museum.

The L-1011 was a big part of the TWA fleet. The museum has a Super-Connie in TWA colors already and although this bird not in any major airline colors, I will bet she will be repainted to TWA livery.

The L1011 flew in Saturday after having to undergo extensive repairs before the FAA would say she was airworthy.

The tail number of this aircraft is N700TS. She will be on permanent display at the air museum

Twice Deported Illegal Alien Arrested for Slashing Two Women

Aaron Noel Camey Valenzuela, 23, currently living in Massachusetts, but an illegal alien from Guatemala, slashed his ex-girlfriend and then another woman who tried to step in to help.

Perhaps if his employer, United Solutions of Leominster, Massachusetts chosen not to hire this person who was in this country illegally this incident may not have happened.

Of course, this guy had already been deported twice. Obviously something in the system is not working, if a guy can get deported twice then come back to commit an assault- or perhaps attempted murder.

Promise of Nuclear Power-- But Zero Budget for Yucca Mountain

In the State of the Union, Obama promised "a new generation of safe, clean nuclear power plants." This of course angered the environmentalists on the left, who all regard nuclear power as evil.

Well, the left must be happy today, because the possibility of actually building the plants decreased. The budget for Yucca mountain- the spent nuclear fuel disposal facility- was set at zero in Obama's proposed budget.

This is of course just one more example of Obama speaking out of both sides of his mouth- he talks about other nations getting ahead of us in math and sciences, then zero's the budget for continued space exploration. He talks about building nuclear power plants but zero's the budget for disposal of spent nuclear fuel.

This is like saying "we are adding a second bathroom to the house" then purchasing a toilet, setting it in a room and not hooking it up to the plumbing.

Laws Banning Cellphone Use While Driving DON'T work

Imposing laws to protect people from themselves are nothing new. The issue is what happens to those laws once it is found that they don't work. For example- researchers have found that laws that ban cellphone use while driving DO NOT prevent car accidents.

From the New York Times: "Laws banning cellphone use while driving apparently haven’t reduced crashes, according to a study released on Friday that compared the number of total crashes before the ban with the number after. The study found virtually no difference in the numbers, a finding that had the researchers scratching their heads."

Now the question is, will the laws be repealed? Probably not. After all, there is still a lot of money to be made selling headphones and devices to "make us safe." In fact, I am willing to bet that communities will continue to propose "no talking while driving laws" despite the evidence the laws are a failure.

Flight Video of the Sukhois T-50 Prototype

This aircraft is Russia's answer to the F-22. The F-22 program was killed by the DOD earlier this year in favor of the Joint Strike Fighter program (F-35). From the video, this appears to be one hot aircraft.

According to Fox News "Putin said Friday the first batch of new fighters is set to enter an air force evaluation unit in 2013 and serial production is set to begin in 2015."

Hat Tip to Lt. Col. Mark Rose for this.

WH Spokesman Discusses KSM Execution Before Trial Location Decided

Robert Gibbs decided to discuss executing KSM, before even the venue of the trial has been finally decided.

I agree that KSM should be executed. However, my opinion is that this should have been handled by the military and the military tribunal process.

Unfortunately, some hot shot defense attorney is going to get up on appeal and point to Gibbs' statement and say that the trial was not fair-- the outcome was pre-determined.

Of course, the defense attorney is also going to scream that the trial was unfair because of "pre-trial publicity."

All in all, I really wonder if a conviction will stand. There are too many loopholes (as there should be) in civilian law. Civilian law should never apply to any enemy combatant.

I am so glad we have a Constitutional Lawyer in the Whitehouse to make sure that terrorists' "rights" are being preserved.

UN Climate Report Using Student Paper and "Climbing Magazine" as Source

"I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on ManBearPig climate change." - Barak Obama- Jan 27, 2009

In the latest revelation about the "accuracy" of the "overwhelming scientific evidence," the Telegraph has uncovered that the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) used a student paper and a magazine article containing interviews with mountain climbers as sources for evidence of ManBearPig global warming in its 2007 report. Neither "source" was peer reviewed.

From the Telegraph:

In its most recent report, it stated that observed reductions in mountain ice in the Andes, Alps and Africa was being caused by global warming, citing two papers as the source of the information. However, it can be revealed that one of the sources quoted was a feature article published in a popular magazine for climbers which was based on anecdotal evidence from mountaineers about the changes they were witnessing on the mountainsides around them.

The other was a dissertation written by a geography student, studying for the equivalent of a master's degree, at the University of Berne in Switzerland that quoted interviews with mountain guides in the Alps.

The revelations, uncovered by The Sunday Telegraph, have raised fresh questions about the quality of the information contained in the report, which was published in 2007.

It comes after officials for the panel were forced earlier this month to retract inaccurate claims in the IPCC's report about the melting of Himalayan glaciers.

....

"There is no way current climbers and mountain guides can give anecdotal evidence back to the 1900s, so what they claim is complete nonsense."

So much for the "overwhelming scientific evidence."

Most Voters Do Not Believe Obama on State of the Union

We have heard the GOP response to the State of the Union, and we have heard the pundits response to the State of the Union, but now it is time to hear the Voters response to the State of the Union.

Barry Obama was right about one thing in the State of the Union. "We face a deficit of trust -- deep and corrosive doubts about how Washington works that have been growing for years." The problem for Obama is that He is the one that voters do not trust.

According to Rassmussen there are a large percentage of voters who do not trust or believe what Obama said in the State of the Union. I guess there really is reason for hope!

When the President stated that taxes have been cut for 95% of Americans, he told the GOP side of the isle "I thought I'd get some applause on that one." There was laughter at the comment, but not just from inside the House chamber, there was laughter in American homes. Only 21% of voters believe Obama's statement. 53% say it is definitely not true and the rest are not sure.

When Obama said the economy is growing again, 50% said, no, it is not. (35% say it is true)

Then the President said his administration had put 2 million people to work through the Recovery Act, who would otherwise not be working. Unfortunately for the President, more Americans can perform simple math that what he counted on, because 51% said that statement was false. (27% say it is true)

Only 35% of voters believe that the stimulus package has helped the economy. A vast majority (59%) of voters also think that the best way to create jobs is to CUT taxes-- but only 14% think that Congress will actually listen-- go figure.

Although Obama said his health care plan will lower the deficit, 68% of voters think it will raise the deficit and 81% believe that it will raise "middle class" taxes. Most voters also say that the health care plan before Congress should be dropped.

But Obama doesn't get it... maybe that is why 61% of voters think it is at least "somewhat likely" that the GOP will take back the House this November.

Perhaps Barry Obama just needs to be "explaining it more clearly"... After all, we are just the stupid voters who are only concerned about "what's in it for me." Or at least that is what our President thinks.

Obviously, Obama is a bit out of touch with what the American Voters think.

In the Well of Senate, Sen. Mitch McConnell attempted to set the record straight on the Citzen's United.

Bin Laden joins Obama in Blaming Bush-- On Global Warming??

In yet another example of Bin Laden agreeing with Obama, in his second audio release of the month, UBL decided to jump into the ManBearPigGlobal Warming debate and blame President Bush--

Now, I have a question here--  Wouldn't crashing 767's and 757's full of fuel into buildings increase carbon dioxide in the atmosphere???  For someone concerned about ManBearPig global warming wouldn't this be a bad thing???

Obama did say "I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on [ManBearPig]climate change."   I am one of them.  I guess Bin Laden is not.

I think that the point also needs to be made that there have been many people over the years who have disagreed with the "overwhelming scientific evidence" of the day...  Galileo was one, and so was Copernicus.

Obama Backing Down- Moving KSM Trial Out of NYC

According to the NY Daily News, the White House has finally heard the chorus of people stating "keep the terrorists out of NYC." Of course, the biggest problem is that they are still saying they want a civilian trial.

Just moving the KSM trial out of NYC is not enough. The KSM trial needs to be moved back to military jurisdiction.

Unfortunately, the military charges were dropped against the terrorists, so I am am curious if there would be a jeprody issue. Of course, civilian charges have not be leveled either... so right now, KSM and his budies have not been charged with anything anywhere.

Obama to Kill NASA Exploration

After spending his State of the Union talking about how important education is, it looks like President Obama will kill off a government program that is 100% about discovery, education, learning and exploration.

It appears the White House will zero out the Constellation Program at NASA.

When the Shuttle Program ends this year, NASA will be without a launch vehicle or a goal. The plan had been, build Constellation and go back to the Moon then on to Mars...

Instead, NASA will be directed to have "other governments" - namely the Russians- fly our Astronauts to the space station. NASA's mission will be to stop ManBearPig Global Warming. Apparently the President does not realize that the best way to stop ManBearPig Global Warming, is to get scientists to report factual data, instead of making up numbers to create a fictional crisis.

Ending manned exploration of space will hurt every American. Since 1976, NASA's manned exploration of space has provided over 1400 inventions that affect our daily lives. These inventions include everything from medical scanners to self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA's) used by fire-fighters to save lives. Smoke detectors (originally deployed in Sky Lab) and ear thermometers are other examples of how NASA "tech" has filtered down to every day lives.

Yes, the United States is in a recession. However, our manned space exploration program does not need to be ended because of it. The history of mankind is the history of discovery. We have been leaders in discovery for over the past 100 years or more. We must not give it up now.

Obama "Slaps" Supreme Court re: Citizens United- Justice Alito Shakes His Head No

I have never heard or seen anything like this before.

During his State of the Union, Obama rebuked the Supreme Court over Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission stating:
"Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests - including foreign companies - to spend without limit in our elections. Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, and worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that’s why I’m urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong."

The amazing thing was actually seeing Justice Alito shake his head and mouth "not true" as the President was speaking. The Chief Justice appears to be shaking his head as well.

Juan Williams on Fox News: "I am not sure it is appropriate for the President to scold the Supreme Court...it worries me in terms of intimidating a branch of government."

Now, I personally am not sure that the "Supremes" were intimidated-- but Justice Alito certainly looked angry.

I have been looking and I cannot find another instance where a President has publicly rebuked the Supreme Court to their "faces."   I believe the President failed to remember that the Supreme Court is an Equal Branch of office.  They hold office for life, and they do not report to the Executive Branch.

He Shall from Time to Time- My Preview of the State of the Union

"He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union...

A Preview of the State of the Union -
Tonight, the President fulfills one of his Constitutionally required duties that were set forth by the Founding Fathers, although I doubt the Founding Fathers ever envisioned the show we will see tonight.

I began to think about why the Founding Fathers thought that this task was so important that it be spelled out. Looking back, to the days without instant global communication, when news travelled slowly if at all, individual Congressmen may not know what was happening outside their state or District. The Office of the President however, would be perceived to be one that would be a clearinghouse of information and that He would know the actual "state" of the Union.

Now I am not so naive as to think that politics did not enter into the thoughts of the Founding Fathers, but I would like to think, that perhaps in an era without "instant dial" focus groups, live television, the internet and dare I say "bloggers," perhaps the State of the Union was a bit more of a factual event and less of a show.

So in the spirit of providing a "factual" State of the Union, I thought I would provide a preview of the State of the Union-- of what really SHOULD be said tonight...

"My fellow Americans--

It has been a year since the Obama Administration and the Democratic Party took a 'super-majority' control of the Congress and the White House. Liberals have had control of the agenda, from what laws and budget are proposed to the sixty votes in the Senate that can break any filibuster to the signature of the President. Liberals have had the power to provide 'change' and Fiscal policy has been under control of the Democrats . Yet things are worse now then they were last year and tonight, in this State of the Union, the Republicans and Bush will be blamed.

Over the last year, the Democrats in Congress and the Office of the President have sought to stimulate the economy. As such, your Government is spending $862 billion of the peoples money and watching unemployment increase to 10%.

This recession began in January of 2007 under a REPUBLICAN and during the TWO YEARS between January 2007 and January 2009, Unemployment increased from 5.0% to 7.6%. This is a 2.6% increase in unemployment over TWO YEARS of Republicans. However, under Democratic control, from January 2009 until December 2009 unemployment has increased to 10%. This shows an unemployment increase of 2.4% in only 11 months! But for this, the Republicans must be blamed.

The Administration must squash business with Cap and Trade. This, despite increasing evidence that ManBearPig the theory of Man Made Global Warming is a fraud.

And in the business surrounding science, this administration, should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out of destroying as many current science and technology jobs as possible and kill America's drive for the stars, its history of discovery and the countless jobs, products, and inventions that our exploration of space as brought us.

During this last year, this administration has embarrassed this country in foreign relations. In giving the Prime Minister of Great Britain a set of DVD's and the Queen an iPod containing "the best of Obama" to isolating Israel, the Administration has snubbed our greatest allies. Advisors, such as Brezinski have suggested military attacks on those we call friends. Yet through this, this Administration has sought to provide the rights of American Citizens to those that seek to kill us, and this Administration will make sure that the terrorists of Al Qaeda receive a Civilian trial instead of the War Crimes trial they deserve. However- it was Bush who lied and started all of this and this is all the Republicans fault.

Let it not be said that this administration has not tried to spread socialism. But for this Conservative from Massachusetts, socialized medicine would be a done deal. Again, this is the fault of a Republican who dared to say he would oppose the Health Care bill as it is now and duped the people into believing him.

The American people need change, just not the change they say the want. How can 48% want a new President, while only 43% say they would re-elect the Messiah?

Rush Limbaugh, George Bush, Hannity, Beck, Scott Brown and the Republicans are REALLY the ones to blame as are the American people. This administration only wishes to force on its citizens what liberals know to be best, despite what the people want or what is stated in the Constitution.

In this next year, although this Administration will say IT will change, rest assurred, it is only to get re-elected. This administration shall stay dedicated to its knowledge that IT knows better than the American people and that this Administration shall decide what is best for you and more importantly what is best for us to maintain control.

Thank you,

And may God Bless America

(Don't worry, if this administration manages to get re-elected "God" will be on the "hit-list" next-- after all, what is the name of God doing in a "state" speech anyway?)

Va. Man Arrested on Weapons Charges- Possible Terrorist or Tourist?

A Virginia man was arrested in New Jersey on weapons charges after police found him with a pair of Bushmaster rifles (one in .50 -apparently altered- and one in .308), a 37mm grenade launcher, several hundred rounds of ammo, a pair of bullet resistant vests, a Russian night vision scope, a red and white "middle-eastern" headdress, and a map of Fort Drum.

The FBI is saying there is no known specific link from this man to terrorist or to a terrorist plot, but, with the grenade launcher, the night vision scope and a map of Fort Drum, one has to wonder.

Of course, this guy was visiting New Jersey-- perhaps the weapons were all for self defense?

Kris Kobach Running for Secretary of State

GOOD NEWS for Kansas! (ok, so this is not "new" news-but I have not written on it and I only recently found out)

Dr. Kris Kobach is running for Secretary of State for the State of Kansas.

Dr. Kobach is a professor of Constitutional Law, former White House Fellow, past Chair of the Kansas GOP and a regular contributor on O'Reilly and Lou Dobbs. Kris also spends his time fighting against the over-reaching of the ACLU.

With Kris as Secretary of State, Kansans can rest assured that he will be doing everything possible to make sure that at least in Kansas, the illegal voter operations of groups like ACORN will stop- and that only those that have the right to vote, get to vote.

Kris takes a firm stance against illegal immigration. Most recently, he has taken the case of Nebraska students who are required to pay out-of-state tuition while illegal aliens are allowed to pay in-state tuition.

Of course, the liberals of the "CommunistKansas City Star" (I hate linking to and giving "idiotic" statements traffic, but I must site sources) are basically accusing Kris of all sorts of racism and all manner of evil. Apparently, illegal aliens who are over 18 should be given a free pass and be allowed to pay "resident" tuition while legal immigrants are required to pay "non-resident" tuition.

I fail to understand why a person who is in this country ILLEGALLY should receive special discounts, while people who obey the rules are required to pay full price.

I also fail to understand why those of us who disagree with illegal immigration are constantly accused of racism. In case liberals where not aware, according to the Border Patrol 2008 Performance and Accountability Report, "in FY 2008, the Border Patrol apprehended 51,970 illegal OTM [other than Mexican] aliens at the southwest border and 3,681 OTMs along the northern border." Illegal aliens come from all races and colors. Illegal immigration has NOTHING to do with any one race.

Michelle Malkin mentions Kris in her book "Culture of Corruption"

Back to Blogging

It has been almost a year since my last post. Why?

Well, for just about the last two years I have been on a "contract for hire." Unfortunately, I became aware that the company (that I will not name) that I was contracting for appeared to have views on the Second Amendment that were quite different than mine, and at the time the contract started, one of the guys I was working with said, "I 'googled' your name and found your blog..." Although this person happened to agree with me politically, I began to worry about how the things I was saying may impact my contract.

Long story short, I am being laid-off as of Friday (29 January 2010), so I guess "holding my tongue" (or my keyboard in this case) really did not matter.

So, I am back.

I am still fighting with psoriatic-arthritis. I am now on Remicade and Methotrexate, so I am sure there will be days where writing may not be possible, but I shall do my best.

I look forward to writing and hope to see my readers return.

As always, comments are welcome- as long as they are NOT anonymous.

Swine Flu in MA

The CDC is about to put Massachusetts on the list of States with Swine Flu. I do not know why it is taking the CDC so long-- Barney Frank has lived there for years!

As far as Swine Flu in Kansas goes-- Kansas should be off the list soon-- Sebelius was confirmed as HHS Secretary yesterday. Therefore she should be moving to Washington D.C soon

Yesterday, the first case of Swine Flu in Pennsylvania was reported-- Arlen Spectre -- or perhaps he is just a swine.

Then there is the issue of Swine Flu Washington, D.C.-- perhaps the CDC thinks everyone already knows about the number of swine already there?

Moves to Stop Iranian Arms Smuggling to Hamas

US Navy Combined Task Force 151 has been ordered to stop ships that are smuggling arms to Hamas, according to reports in the London Times, Haaretz and yNet. Additionally, a French Frigate has been ordered to the area to stop arms smuggling. French President Sarkozy ordered the French Foreign Minister to work with the US and Europe to find methods to stop the arms smuggling to Hamas.

Israeli military intelligence has been circulating documents that suggest that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard has a large program in place to re-arm Hamas after the recent fighting with Israel in Gaza.

Last week, the crew from the USS San Antonio (LPD-17) boarded a Cypriot flagged ship owned by Iran, and it is believed that weapons were found. These weapons were heading from Iran to Hamas. This event occurred on January 19-20. Some reports suggest that this was originally a covert op that was initiated because of the "memorandum of understanding" between the US and Israel that was signed on January 16.

There is some discussion as to the legal basis for the boarding and any future boarding in international waters as the ship was flying the flag of a nation.

The concern of course is what happens next? If the US Navy moves to stop Iranian shipping of weapons--which I believe it should-- and an Iranian ship decides it is not going to "heave to" then what? What are the rules of engagement in this situation? Does the Navy fire a shot across the bow? Does the Navy disable a rudder with a shot or small torpedo? How does Iran respond, if the US fires on an Iranian ship that refuses to stop? How do we react, should an Iranian vessel fire upon us, or members of a boarding party are killed? Are we looking at the opening moves of the next war? Or will Iran back down like the Soviets did with Cuba in 1962?

Iran is determined to re-arm Hamas, just as they are determined to acquire nukes. All of this is for one purpose-- to annihilate Israel. The US should of course stop Iran. Hamas is a terrorist organization and is responsible for the deaths of Israeli's as well as Americans and people of other countries. They, like the Taliban, are not a legitimate government. They are terrorists.

The US used to believe in stopping terrorist threats. I hope we still do.

Iran Running Out of Yellow Cake

Iran is apparently running out of yellow cake uranium, which is used to process nuclear weapons. The British are lobbying major uranium producing nations, asking them not to sell uranium to Iran. The idea is that if Iran runs out of uranium, it could help contain their nuclear ambitions.

However, according to reports, Mossad believes that Iran will produce its first nuclear weapon this year or next. Israeli military intelligence agrees with this assessment.

Iran of course claims their nuclear program is peaceful and they would never even think of the idea of harming Israel. Maybe they are thinking they need a nuclear program because of the concern of all the green-house gas that all their oil and natural gas would produce if they used that to produce electricity.

Maybe Iran was listening to the Inaugural address. After all, President Barak Hussien Obama said, "know that your people will judge you on what you can build."

Well Mr. President, it looks like Iran can build a nuke or two, and now something needs to be done before it is too late.
Iran must be stopped. If we do not stop them, Israel will. Regardless, there must never be an Iranian bomb.

Two Former Gitmo Detainee's In Al-Qaeda Video

Two terrorist, released from Gitmo have appeared in a video posted on a terrorist website according to Agence France Presse.

Abu Sufyan al-Azdi al-Shahri, prisoner number 372 at Gitmo and Abu al Hareth Muhammad al-Oufi, prisoner number 333 both appeared in the Al-Qaeda video.

In the video, al-Shahri admits to having done "jihad" and talks about his stay at Gitmo.

According to the Penatogon, 61 of the 520 released inmates have returned to fighting.

So, obviously it is time to stop the trials, close Gitmo and release them all. Right, Mr. President?

I Won- Now Shut-Up and Obey Me

I believe I am now beginning to understand about this "change" thing that liberals have been talking about for the last year or so.

Change- from a government that believes in free speech and free press to one that does not.

Earlier this week, President Obama got irritated and decided to have a stare down with a reporter. The reporter asked what the deal was with the President's promise of no lobbyist in his administration even though he appointed a lobbyist from Raytheon to work at the pentagon. The President never answered the question.

Then we have the issue of photographers in the White House. The White House is not allowing still cameras and video in situations where they have always been allowed in previous administrations. Instead, the White House is distributing "official" photos of events.

And then we have the meeting with the GOP yesterday. The President is quoted as saying "I won" in a effort to explain why he will get his way with the stimulus package.

Of course, the best way to get along with the new Administration is to stop listening to anyone who questions them. The President is quoted as saying "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." Is that the "Fairness Doctrine" I see coming next?

So much for the new age of openness.

Israel Declares Cease-Fire, Hamas Attacks

According to ynet News, two people were injured today (Sunday) when terrorist fired fifteen rockets and three mortars into Israel. The attacks were in Ashdod and Sedrot. In addition to the people that were injured, there was property damage from the attacks including damage to a kibbutz with a chicken farm (apparently there are 160,000 chickens so I am calling that a farm). Reports are that a couple hundred chickens were killed.

The Israeli Defense Forces fired back and took out the launchers of the rockets.

No country should constantly have to put up with this type of activity. If rockets were being fired from Juarez into El Paso every day, or across the border into Douglas, Arizona, I am quite sure the US Military would have responded with all the rage this nation can muster.

Of course, there are those out there that seem to think that Israel should have to just "put-up with it" or "deal with it." Why? Why should Israel not be entitled to protect their citizens, visitors and those within their borders?

Work Place Shooting Stopped By Concealed Carry

This is a story that will not be talked about on the left-wing media. Why? Because it proves two things. First, it proves that Concealed Carry works. Second, it proves that "gun control" will NOT stop a bad guy who wants to commit a crime.

This comes to us from the Houston Chronicle, via "Of Arms and the Law."

A woman, who is allegedly mentally unbalanced, walked into a Houston business with a bow and shot an employee in the chest. She then pulls what appears to a pistol (it turned out later to be fake) and points it at other employees. Two employees, who are concealed carry permit holders, fire at her, wounding her. The woman retreats to another room. Police arrive. The woman draws the bow and points it at police officers who also fire at her. The woman, and the man she shot with the arrow are both hospitalized.

First, this story proves that concealed carry works in the workplace. I cannot help but wonder how many more people would have been hurt if the employees had not stopped the woman with the bow. Obviously, she was willing to take more lives. This is evidenced by her drawing on police.

Second, the woman used a bow. Reports are that she was mentally unbalanced. When a person REALLY wants to kill, not having a gun will not stop them. If "Gun Control" had been involved in this story, the woman with the bow would have been the victor, she would not have been stopped, and neither of the concealed carry holders would have been armed.

The ONLY thing that gun control does is disarm law-abiding citizens.

Or perhaps we need tighter bow control?

The White House Gun-Ban Agenda

The White House website has posted the President's agenda-- including his intent to ban ownership of certain firearms by law-abiding citizens.

This is planned, despite a reported drop in violent crime by 23% between 1990 and 2008.

Bottom line, stock up on firearms now, before the current administration decides that law-abiding citizens, who have passed criminal background checks, cannot be trusted with gun's that shoot a single shot when you pull the trigger.

Stock up now, before the administration decides how many rounds of ammunition law-abiding, background cleared, fingerprinted, citizens are allowed to carry in a concealed carry weapon- or ANY weapon for that matter.

The Second Amendment says, "...the right of the people…shall not be infringed." What part of SHALL NOT be infringed does the administration not understand?

The Other Change of Command on Inauguration Day

One other change of command that took place with the inauguration should be noted. Col. Mark Tillman, USAF, flew his last mission of the VC-25 known as Air Force One. His last mission, from Andrews Air Force Base to Midland, Texas and back was not flown with the callsign Air Force One, however. This flight was known as Special Air Mission 28000 (SAM28000).

Col. Tillman, a veteran of 30 years is retiring from the Air Force and passed his command to Col. Scott Turner.

Col. Tillman was in command of Air Force One on 9/11 and also flew President Bush to Iraq on Thanksgiving 2003. The Thanksgiving mission was so secret, according to Col. Tillman, that the crew was not told until just prior to take-off and the crews in Baghdad did not know the President was arriving until he landed.

Thoughts on the Inauguration

At noon Eastern, a new age began in this country. I am not speaking of the "first's" that occurred today, although I will agree that it is remarkable and wonderful, that just over 45 years since Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech, an African-American family is the First Family. We should not forget, that President Obama is not the first African-American to hold high government office. The first African-American Secretary of State was appointed by President George W. Bush, and the first African-American Woman appointed Secretary of State, was also appointed by President George W. Bush.

The new age that I speak of is an age of liberalism with little to no method to object. President Obama is a liberal. The liberals control the House by a large majority. The liberals control the Senate by almost a veto and filibuster proof majority. The Cabinet, with the exception of Defense Secretary Gates, are all liberal ideologues.

I am NOT looking forward to this new age.

The President was correct in his speech, when he stated that we faced challenges ahead.

We face an economy with serious issues. Unfortunately, the "Market" reacted to the inauguration today with a drop of 332 points. The "Market " dropped 50 of those points during the President's speech. Does that tell us what "the Street" really thinks of the new President?

We continue to face a war on terror. It is ridiculous to think we should treat terrorist we capture as criminals. They are enemy combatants, captured in a combat zone, out of uniform. They should be treated as such, and not treated as an American citizen subject to all the rights and privileges' of our court system. They should be treated as what they are, and I do NOT believe this contradicts any of the ideals our country was founded on.

We face a possible climate shift. I am NOT speaking of global warming. On the contrary, I am speaking of global cooling. What we need for this is SCIENCE. REAL SCIENCE- not the voodoo and false science of Global Warming. We need real scientists doing real research so we can prepare for what is to come. I do not say or believe that we need scientist to tell us how to radically change the climate, for I do not believe that man has very much influence on planetary climate change. We are in a period of sunspot lapse that exceeds 95% of normal, and only during the Dalton Minimum has a lapse time been longer. Fortunately real science is finally starting to "leak out." Now even the liberal CNN is starting to see that, just maybe, cooling is happening and "Global Warming" may be a myth.

We face a time when the rights of the individual are constantly eroded. We live in a time when, although the Court has ruled in Heller that the Second Amendment applies to the individual, the new President has appointed an Attorney General who has, throughout his career, worked to weaken the Second Amendment.

Yes, I agree with our new President, we face many challenges. What those challenges are, and how we should address them are where the President and I disagree.

Although I wish the President and his family good health and safety, and I want to see a safe, secure, peace in the Middle-East, especially for Israel, I do not wish the President success. I do not want him to succeed. The success of this President and Congress will be disaster for this country.

As such I will write. I will write my Congressman. I will write here. I will make calls. I will donate to organizations such as the NRA who are there to ensure that Freedom is protected. I encourage all my readers to do the same.

It is 650 days until mid-term elections. 650 days until we can change the polarity of the Congress. We have 650 days of hard work ahead of us.

I encourage all my readers to join me, working over the next 650 days, so that we can bring about REAL change.

Psoriatic Arthritis Update

Lately, I have received several emails and comments regarding how my Psoriatic Arthritis is doing. I wish I could say that things are great and there are no issues, but that is not entirely true.

I am doing better and fortunately I am off the Methotrexate (MTX). The MTX was not fun at all for me. I could usually count on 24 hours of being nauseous and queasy after taking it, but it would eventually pass.

These days I am taking Relefin and Humira, as well as a narcotic pain med. Originally, I had been taking Embril, which was a twice a week injection, but taking Humira, which is every 10 days for me, is much more convenient with traveling for work.

As far as how it is working, I am not sure. I have good days and bad days. New Years week had several bad days, and for some reason, the last 48 hours has been bad as well. The Humira is supposed to work on my skin psoriasis, but for some reason it has not. I am not sure if that means it is not working well on the arthritis portion of the psoriasis.

At any rate, I am thankful for the good days, and I make sure that when I am having one I take full advantage of it.
